Mission

One of the most intriguing questions of mankind is the question after the nature of the human mind.
Basically the same question is the question after the nature of human consciousness.
The answer to both questions is sometimes considered as the
'Third Enlightenment'.

What are the first two enlightenments?

The 'First Enlightenment': Copernicus’ discovery that earth circles the sun.
The 'Second Enlightenment': Darwin's discovery of the principles of evolution.

The basic assumption for the answer to the fundamental questions about the human mind and human consciousness is called naturalism. Naturalism assumes that all phenomena in the universe, including human mind and human consciousness,

can be explained in a natural way.

That means that all non-natural phenomena like divinities and souls are not necessary for any explanation.

There are some general questions involved:

  • What is the understanding of physics about the evolution of the universe and the evolution of men?
  • What exactly is the view of naturalism?
  • Is the physical understanding of the evolution of men consistent regarding open physical questions like the compatibility of general relativity and quantum theory or the lack of understanding of dark matter and dark energy?
  • Can all mental aspects of the human mind be reduced to physics and matter?
(This question is the so-called mind-body problem.)
  • Does the reduction of the human mind and human consciousness to matter mean that humans do not have a free will?
  • How would the proof of the non–existence of a free will change human values?

I have just finished a work in which I solve the mind-body problem and unravel the mystery of human consciousness.
I prove the complete correctness and the consistency of materialism / reductionism.
I show that every mental state or property can completely be reduced to physics.
From the proof of the correctness of materialism follow some severe consequences for philosophy.

This work will be published under the title:
The Mystery of Human Consciousness Unraveled - From the Big Bang to Human Thinking

First, it has been published as a book in German under the German title (in Links):
Die Entschlüsselung des menschlichen Bewusstseins - Vom Urknall zum menschlichen Denken

The essential part has been published as an article under the title:
The Solution to the Mind-Body Problem: The Complete Reduction of the Human Mind to Matter
(Sociology and Anthropology, 2017, Vol. 5, No. 4)

An additional article has addressed the so-called ‘Hard Problem’ and has shown that the ‘Hard Problem’ does not exist:
The Alleged Hard Problem: A Pseudo Problem
(Philosophy Study, 2017, Vol. 7, No. 3)

The natural explanation of the human mind leads to the consequence that humans cannot have a free will if naturalism is true.

This consequence has been published as an article under the title:
Why Free Will Is Logically Not Possible Within Naturalism

(Philosophy Study, 2017, Vol. 7, No. 2)

A by-product of this work are some new insights about human consciousness and consciousness in general.
This was publishedas an article under the title:

Unconsciouss, Subconaciousness and the Creation of Consciousness

(Journal of Consciousness Exploration and Research, 2019, Vol. 10, Issue 5)

The solution of the mind-body problem also provides the solution how human language evolved. This will be pubished as an article under the title:

The Evolutionary Development of Human Language
(
Sociology and Anthropology, 2020, Vol. 8, No.2)

In addition to the work about consciousness and the human mind I have also developed a new interpretation of quantum theory that leads to a new understanding of of matter and the consequence of the discreteness of space and time. This was published as an article under the title:

A New Understanding of Superpostion, Quantum Objects and the Universe, the Discreteness of Space and Time, and Finally, Some Relief for Schrödinger's Cat

(Physics Essays, 2019, Vol. 35, No. 3)
